TRACK AND FIELD The
Bedfordshire Open was held on April 4th 2026
at Bedford Thank you to
Courtney Gunn, David Brown and Paul Brooks for organising the event and to
all the officials who made it happen.
Final thanks, of course, to all the athletes who competed on the day,
you are why we do it. Congratulations
to Bedford and County for the newly relaid track, a
few niggles on the day were all solved by the officials and Track Staff The confirmed results are below The 1500M races were part of the Bedfordshire County Championship events and medals awarded. Note the main champs details are below including the entry closing date. Also we are using Roster for entries this year Bedfordshire & Herts COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS These were
held on Saturday and Sunday 9th & 10th May 2026 at
Watford. Thank you to Courtney Gunn and Paul Brooks for organsing the events for Beds and John Gandee from Herts. Also to all the officials on the day. The event went well and was a very fine day on Saturday and a noticeably colder one on Sunday!! The results are on Roster, however a full set of results will be posted here as soon as they are checked and verified. The individual awards winners will also then be posted, Plus an updated set of Championships Best Performances. Note we will look at how we represent these as we will probably want to retain the old age groups for history as well as update to the new age groups. The current list of all Championship Best Performances for females and males are below (May 2025). Beds AAA T&F (Female) Championship Records as of May 2025.pdf Beds AAA T&F (Male) Championship Records as of May 2025.pdf There ae twelve trophies awarded as part of the county championships. As these are not often on public display, we wanted to provide an online accessible record of previous winners. This is not yet a necessarily complete list and we will be updating further as we run through our records. Please see below by trophy starting with a full list of the trophies, what they are awarded for and by whom they were donated. Championships Rationale This combined approach has been considered for a while
but we have finally agreed to do this with Herts. The reasons are: 1. Improved competition for
athletes. 2. Greater pool of officials
and a guarantee that we can provide electronic timing. 3. Availability of venue with
Bedford having been booked for BAL in 2019 and now being taken by BUCS in
2020 on the preferred mid-May weekend 4. Sharing of costs although
the combination will mean a 2 day competition which
minimises this aspect. I will update
